Nutrition
One thing about me is I LOVE food and love to eat. My favourite thing to do at the weekend is go with the family to our favourite brunch spot and enjoy every bite of a cinnamon bun. Food should be enjoyable and you should be able to live your life and eat the things you love, it is all just balance.
I truly believe that to reach your goals you must be able enjoy what you are eating and not feel like you are being restricted and having to miss out constantly. Quick fix diets are not going to be found here it is all about creating long term healthy eating habits and educating you on the foods that are going to keep you satisfied, whilst still enjoying those foods you love. I am not saying go eat a cinnamon bun every day but what I am saying is you can still have a bun, it is all about balance.
Obviously if your goal is to lose weight you are going to need to be eating in a calorie deficit (consuming less calories than you are using), but this can still be done without feeling like you aren’t able to enjoy food. It is about fuelling yourself in the right way and turning nutritious foods into tasty meals. No one wants a plate of boiled veg every night, so lets take those veg, add some flavour and create some delicious foods that the whole family can enjoy.
This is where I come in, I will teach you how to fuel your body with the right foods and in the right quantities for you. No one person is the same and so the amount of calories you need compared to your friends and family are going to be different. Also we all like different foods, have different lifestyles and so the plan for one person will be different to the next. I will create a plan for you that helps you to reach your goals, consisting of foods you like and that works within your lifestyle.
Nutrition During the Menopause
During perimenopause and menopause, your body goes through significant hormonal changes — particularly a decline in oestrogen — and this affects far more than just your cycle. It can influence how your body stores fat, how you build and maintain muscle, your energy levels, bone health, and even how you respond to certain foods.
This is why your nutritional needs aren’t the same as they were in your 20s or 30s.
For example, protein becomes even more important to help maintain muscle mass and support recovery. You may also need to be more mindful of blood sugar balance, as hormonal shifts can make you more sensitive to energy dips and cravings. Nutrients that support bone health — like calcium and vitamin D — become increasingly important, as well as those that help manage inflammation and support overall wellbeing.
It’s not about eating less — it’s about eating smarter, in a way that works with your changing biology rather than against it.
With the right approach, nutrition can help you feel more energised, support a healthy body composition, and play a key role in helping you feel like yourself again during this stage of life. And that’s where I can help — guiding you on what to eat, how to balance your meals, and keeping things simple and realistic so it fits easily into your everyday life.
The perfect combo is the right nutrition plan with the right training!
